Vinyl, etc.

We’re expecting our limited edition I Am the Salt vinyl to be shipped out any day now, holiday season mail traffic pending.  Half will be going to the very patient Kickstarter supporters who pre-ordered the damn thing before the songs were even halfway conceived (thanks again!).  The other half will be available for sale by email inquiry only (altamiraonline@gmail.com); limited pre-orders are available.  We’ll let you know when they’re here!

Our next venture will be The Rodeo Barons’ CD release party on Dec. 28, with our friends Pinegrove from NYC.  It will be at The Parting Glass in Saratoga Springs, NY at 8pm.  The Rodeo Barons’ new album has a song called “Good Enough” that may be better than our song of the same name!

Our recent Hurricane Sandy benefit at Red Square went swimmingly.  With the help of local fundraiser Sammy Morra and her team of prize basket assemblers, and contributing musicians Matt and the Bad Ideas, The Sunny Side of the Street Band, Matt Durfee and M.R. Poulopoulos (who also happened to take the photos above), we raised over $900 for Red Cross to put toward disaster relief and collected lots of food and clothing to donate to shelters.  Big thanks to Design It Together, paperDENIMart, 97.7 WEXT and the ever-present Tim Reidy for donating prize material.

We’ll be taking a nice long break to re-energize and focus on our respective side projects in 2013.  For now, be sure to check out Rosary Beard, Hunter’s acoustic pairing with local legend Matthew Loiacono/Carefully, and folk extraordinaire Matt Durfee’s long awaited debut album Little World, with August and Tommy at the rhythmic helm, due out next year.  See you in the future!
